MCPHERSON – The Lady Braves tied a season best with six goals in their Wednesday win at McPherson.

The 6-1 blowout marked the fourth straight victory for the No. 16 Ottawa University women’s soccer team.

Jaelynn Chargualaf, freshman forward, scored Ottawa’s first goal less than five minutes into the contest, giving her team a lead it wouldn’t relinquish. Caroline Jenkins, senior forward, padded the lead with a goal at the 15:09 mark in the first half.

McPherson’s Lacy Fry responded with the Lady Bulldogs’ lone goal at the 16:22 mark.

Ady Barazza, junior midfielder, scored at the 31:12 mark to give the Lady Braves a 3-1 halftime lead.

Jenkins stayed hot in the second half, scoring two goals less than 10 minutes apart to give her 14 goals scored this season, which ranks 15th in the NAIA. Jenkins scored at the 49:41 mark and 58:20.

Abigail Rosales, junior midfielder, scored at the 76:37 mark, assisted by Deanna Passerella, sophomore defender.

Ottawa dominated ball control and shots. The Lady Braves had a McPherson 22-4 shots advantage and 11-2 in shots-on-goal.

Ottawa (8-2-1) plays 5 p.m today at home against Bethany College.
