BURLINGTON — Ryan Ware continues to have a stellar wrestling season.

Competing in the 113-pound weight division, Wellville High School’s Ware earned his third tournament championship this season at the Burlington Invitational Saturday. He kept his record a spotless 13-0 by beating the top 113 3A wrestler in the state, Eureka’s Kolby Britt, by a 5-4 decision. He was awarded Outstanding Wrestler for his efforts.

Overall, Wellsville had a strong weekend wrestling, head coach Kyle Patton, said.

Ethan Ewing earned runner-up in the 126 weight division, improving his record to 8-3. Anthony Signs finished fifth in the 138 weight division to improve to 13-3 on the year, and Chase Farley finished in seventh place.

“It was a great tournament for us as half the field will be at our regionals,” Patton said.

Wellsville will compete Friday at the Central Heights tournament at Central Heights High School, 3521 Ellis Road, Richmond.
