WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville High School boys basketball team put on a offensive display Friday night in Wellsville.

The Eagles netted 42 points in the first half and cruised to a 72-47 victory over Iola. Wellsville hit 23 fields, including 14 treys.

Zach Vance was the marksman as he hit eight treys en route to 28 points. Jackson Dwyer fired in 19 points. Nine Eagles scored in the game.

Wellsville led 42-25 at halftime.

WELLSVILLE — The Eagles had too much firepower for Iola Friday in Wellsville. The Eagles rolled to a 66-31 victory.

Demi Aamold placed a balanced attack with 22 points. Sydney Dwyer netted 13 and Grace Showalter chipped in 11.

“We got off to a fast start tonight scoring 24 points in the first quarter,” Wellsville coach Brock Campbell said. “I felt we did a good job taking the ball to basket tonight and not just settling for three-point shots.”

Wellsville (6-2) play at home Thursday against Anderson County.

COUNCIL GROVE — The Braves broke a tight game by outscoring West Franklin by nine points in the fourth quarter Friday in Council Grove.

West Franklin was within 34-29 through three quarters.

West Franklin coach Trisha Rogers said fatigue down the stretch hurt her team. She said the Falcons are fighting through sickness.

Emilee Sheldon paced the Falcons with 11 points.

West Franklin plays Tuesday in the Flint Hills League Tournament in Emporia.
