WAVERLY — The West Franklin High School boys basketball team nipped Waverly on the road Tuesday. The Falcons won 59-57.

Tanner Sink and Hunter Lewis combined for 14 of the Falcon’s 16 fourth quarter points, helping the team push past the Bulldogs in a close game.

Sink finished with 26 points, including 12 total field goals, while Lewis added 20.

West Franklin plays Friday at Lebo.

WELLSVILLE — The Eagles took a big offensive first half and ran away with a win Tuesday. They beat Prairie View 70-47 at Wellsville High School, 602 Walnut St., Wellsville.

The Eagles jumped out to a 21-9 lead at the end of the first quarter, and continued to tack on the points.

Zach Vance finished with 22 points to lead all scorers, including three baskets from beyond the arc and 5-6 from the foul line. Jackson Dwyer added 14 points, and Dawson Donovan had 12.

Wellsville plays Friday at Osawatomie.

The Central Heights High School boys basketball team dropped its fourth straight game Tuesday. The Vikings stumbled at home 62-34 against Olpe.

Alex Cannady led the Vikings with 11 points.

Central Heights (2-14) plays Feb. 9 at Kansas City Christian.
