The Lady Braves return home following three of their last four games on the road.

The Ottawa University women’s basketball team (7-16, 5-12 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference) plays 3 p.m. today at OU’s Wilson Field House against McPherson College (12-12, 8-9 KCAC).

After starting the season 9-4 (5-3 KCAC), the Lady Bulldogs have since cooled off. McPherson is 3-8 since mid-December, including a Wednesday home loss to conference-leading No. 22 Friends University, 77-70.

McPherson won the first matchup between the two squads this season, Dec. 9 61-51 in McPherson.

BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma — The Lady Braves couldn’t muster much offense on the wings of a two-game win streak.

Ottawa shot just 24 percent from the floor (12-50), including a dismal 3-23 from three-point range in a 56-40 loss Wednesday at Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

OU hung around with its opponent in the first half, but the Lady Eagles gained their first double-digit lead at the 7:42 mark in the third quarter on a three-point bucket by Cheyenne Been, 31-21. Ottawa cut the lead back to 31-25 midway through the quarter, but from there OKWU went on a 7-0 run and maintained a double-digit lead throughout.

Jenna Kramer, sophomore guard, and Jennifer Anthony, freshman guard, led OU’s offense with seven points apiece. OKWU’s Tiffany Rieger was the only player on either squad to score in double digits, putting up 19 points on seven field goals (four three-pointers).
