The Central Heights High School girls basketball team used a big first half to pull away from Kansas City Christian Friday night at home.

The Vikings posted a 40-24 victory after gaining a 21-6 halftime lead.

Shelbi Hettinger paced Central Heights with 15 points. Jasmine Clancy chipped in 10.

WELLSVILLE 72, WEST FRANKLIN 32 

POMONA — Defense paced the Wellsville Eagles to a 72-32 win over West Franklin Friday in Pomona.

“We started out playing great defense,” Wellsville coach Brock Campbell said. “We did a great job of sharing the ball offensively. We had nine different girls score.”

Sydney Dwyer led a balanced attack with 16 points.

Wellsville (12-4) plays Tuesday at home against Metro Academy.
