MELVERN — The Falcons snapped a three-game losing streak with a close road win Tuesday.

The West Franklin High School boys basketball team clipped Marais Des Cygnes Valley in Melvern 53-48.

Tanner Sink, junior, led the Falcons with 16 points, followed by Riley Milliken, sophomore, who put up 13 points.

West Franklin (6-11) plays Tuesday at home against Burlingame.

WELLSVILLE — The Eagles hit 9-13 free throws in the fourth quarter to clinch a win.

The Wellsville High School boys basketball team downed visiting Metro Academy Tuesday 61-54. Wellsville had a 44-43 lead heading into the fourth quarter before outscoring its opponent 17-11 in the final eight minutes.

Wellsville’s Zach Vance had 22 points, 16 of which he scored in the first half. Jackson Dwyer added 18 points for the Eagles.

Wellsville plays (11-6) plays 7:30 p.m. at home on Senior Night against Santa Fe Trail.

Alex Cannady led the offenseive charge for the Vikings in the losing effort, putting up 14 points.
