GREAT BEND — Barton County Community College’s Zach Curry was named both the KJCCC Kansas MTXE Division I Baseball Pitcher of the Week, and the national NJCAA Pitcher of the week. The former Ottawa High School standout, now BCCC freshman, tossed seven scoreless innings Saturday against Butler, helping his team earn its first Jayhawk West title since 1994.

Curry allowed just two hits, walked zero and struck out a wopping 12 batters. He pitched a perfect game into the fifth inning.

Curry is now 6-0 on the season with a 4.40 ERA and 9.10 K/9.
