HUTCHINSON — The KCAC Fall Fling kicks off college volleyball season for the second straight year.
The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball teams are headed to Hutchinson Friday and Saturday for the tournament hosted at the Hutchinson Sports Arena, 1300 N. Plum St., Hutchinson. Teams were seeded based on the 2017 regular season finish, and the tournament will include four total matches, two per day for each team, according to a conference news release.
Teams will advance to day two based on day one results. First-place teams from each pool will play in the Gold Bracket, second place teams will play in the Silver Bracket, and all remaining teams will be placed into a new pool schedule (Bronze) in which only two of their matches will be played.
Ottawa University, winners of three consecutive KCAC regular season titles, plays two pool games Friday before entering bracket play Saturday. The Lady Braves play 3:30 p.m. against Bethany College, and 8 p.m. against Friends University.
Match times are as follows:
11 a.m. — Kansas Wesleyan vs. Sterling; Tabor vs. Bethel; Friends vs. Bethany.
1:15 p.m. — McPherson vs. Avila; Oklahoma Wesleyan vs. Southwestern.
3:30 p.m. — Ottawa vs. Bethany; Kansas Wesleyan vs. York; Saint Mary vs. Bethel.
5:45 p.m. — Tabor vs. Saint Mary; Ottawa vs. Friends; Sterling vs. York.
10 a.m. — Silver semifinal No. 1; Silver semifinal No. 2; Bronze Pool A No. 3 vs. Pool D No. 4.
12:15 p.m. — Gold semifinal No. 1; Gold Semifinal No. 2; Bronze Pool C No. 3 vs. Pool D No. 3.
2:30 p.m. — Silver finals; Silver consolation; Bronze Pool B No. 3 vs. Pool D No. 4.
4:45 p.m. — Gold consolation; Bronze Pool A No. 3 vs. Pool D No. 3.
7 p.m. — Gold finals; Bronze Pool B No. 4 vs. Pool C No. 3.
