The Leavenworth tennis team struggled in their make-up dual against Olathe North Wednesday.

The Pioneers went 0-6 in singles and 1-3 in doubles.

“We went against some very good competition and overall we did play very well,” Coach Shad Langfoss said. “Samantha (Casmus) played one of her best singles matches this year. I know the score is not represented by that but she was hitting the ball very well against a very good competitor. The same can be said for Carolann (Perry) when she played her singles match also. Came close to a tie-breaker, but unfortunately did not happen.”

Casmus and Perry were able to pull out the doubles win for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers will be back in action in a quad on Tuesday at Mill Valley. The Pioneers will face Mill Valley, Blue Valley Southwest, De Soto and Shawnee Heights. Matches begin at 3:30 p.m.
