The schedule doesn’t get easier for the Lady Braves. Three days after finishing a four-game stint against ranked teams, the Ottawa University women’s basketball team hosts Kansas Wesleyan (7-4, 5-1 KCAC) 3 p.m. Saturday in Ottawa.

KWU has won four straight games, all by double digits, and is third in the conference standings behind Bethel College and undefeated Sterling College.

The Lady Coyotes have the KCAC’s second-best scoring offense per game (73.46 ppg). They are led by senior Kayla Kivinski (12.36 ppg).

OU (2-8, 2-4 KCAC) has lost three straight, including a rough outing against ranked Haskell Indian Nations University Wednesday. The team fell at home 80-39 against the non-conference opponent.

The Lady Braves trailed throughout, shooting a dismal 18 percent (9-50 from the field). The team also committed 36 turnovers, 12 in the third quarter alone.

Liz Vaughn, freshman forward, led the team with eight points and six rebounds. Haskell’s Kasey Rice led all scorers with 18 points.
