The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference announced Friday the updated leaderboard for the 2018-19 Commissioner’s Cup. Ottawa University sits in second place, just five points behind the leader, Kansas Wesleyan, through the fall season, according to a conference news release.

Following the 2018 fall athletic season, Kansas Wesleyan leads the Commissioner’s Cup with 64 points after finishing first in football, men’s and women’s soccer, and third in men’s cross country and volleyball to take the early lead.

Ottawa University is in second with 59 overall points. The Braves finished second in volleyball, football, and women’s soccer, and fourth in men’s soccer. Friends University is in third place with 53 overall points, placing second in men’s cross country, third in women’s cross country and men’s soccer, and fourth in women’s soccer.

Following the winter athletic season the Commissioner’s Cup standings will be updated with basketball, cheer, men’s wrestling, and indoor track & field points. The winner of the seventh KCAC Commissioner’s Cup will be announced directly following the spring athletic season, in which baseball, softball, men’s golf, women’s golf, tennis, and outdoor track & field will be scored. Points are scored based on final conference standings in each sport.

The conference has partnered with McCownGordon Construction to sponsor the Commissioner’s Cup for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, the release said.
