DES MOINES, Iowa — After a 0-3 start, the Ottawa University men’s volleyball team has won five straight. The Braves toppled Dordt College Friday at home in straight sets, and followed that up with a pair of wins at the Grand View Tournament Saturday hosted in Des Moines.

The No. 7-ranked Braves (5-3) put on a strong show in Iowa, besting two ranked teams in (RV) Cardinal Stritch University 25-14, 28-26, 19-25, 25-17; and No. 6 Saint Ambrose University 25-22, 20-25, 25-20, 25-18. Ottawa beat Dordt the day before 25-21, 25-24, 25-13.

As a team, OU never hit below a .255 attacking percentage in any of the three games, including finishing with a .349 percentage against Saint Ambrose. The team also racked up 24.5 blocks, 12 of which came against Cardinal Stritch.

Ashan Jordan, sophomore outside hitter, led the offense with 37 total kills and 21 total digs across three matches. Troy Lance, junior middle blocker, finished with eight blocks.

Ottawa returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Missouri Valley Tournament hosted in Marshall, Missouri.
