Snow bow snapped
1/8/2010
Two rainbow-like spots appear Thursday on both sides of the afternoon sun. The phenomena, which is caused by the refraction of sunlight passing through ice crystals, is called a parhelion by meteorologists. The parhelion is called a “Sundog” in Native American folklore and is said to signal a coming change in the weather.
