Relief effort urges help for Haiti

An Ottawa bank will collect donations for the American Red Cross relief effort for Haiti.

An estimated 45,000-50,000 people were killed Tuesday after a major earthquake in Haiti. The number of casualties is based on government figures and a wide network of Haitian volunteers across the hard-hit capital Port-au-Prince, Red Cross federation spokesman Jean-Luc Martinage said.
