Shooting woes return for OU women

WICHITA — The Ottawa University women’s basketball team strung together several good shooting games the past couple of weeks.

The lid returned to the basket during the second half of Wednesday’s 63-46 loss to Friends in Wichita. Ottawa shot 15 percent (4-26) from the field in the second half.

The lid returned to the basket during the second half of Wednesday’s 63-46 loss to Friends in Wichita. Ottawa shot 15 percent (4-26) from the field in the second half.

Ottawa was within 27-25 at halftime and scored just 21 points in the second half. Friends shot 59 percent in the second half.

Senior Lauren Buckles led the Lady Braves with 12 points. Mikayla Skidmore scored 10 points, connecting on 8-for-9 at the free-throw line. Skidmore and Amber Ramsey tied for the team high with three assists apiece. Ramsey snared seven rebounds.

Lady Braves (7-12, 3-6) plays 5 p.m. today at home against Kansas Wesleyan.
