OHS wrestlers find success, split duals

TOPEKA — The Ottawa High School wrestling team split duals Thursday at Highland Park in Topeka.

The Cyclones rolled by Highland Park, 63-23. Ottawa fell to Rossville, 45-30.

The Cyclones rolled by Highland Park, 63-23. Ottawa fell to Rossville, 45-30.

Ottawa coach Joe Tokarz said the Cyclones had some good matches.

“We came out of the duals learning a little bit more about preparing for our opponents,” Tokarz said.

Ottawa had four wrestlers — Tony Wurtz, Cale Paquette, Franklin Windler and Dalton Weidl — win both of their matches.

Ottawa wrestles Saturday at Olathe North.
