Two area men injured in head-on wreck

Two area men are in critical condition at Overland Park Regional Medical Center following a two-vehicle head-on crash about 3 p.m. Thursday on K-68, east of Pomona, a spokeswoman for the hospital said Friday.
A 2000 Ford Taurus driven by Wayne Russell, 26, Pomona, was traveling west on K-68 when it crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2006 Toyota driven by Daniel Sloop, 24, Vassar, according to a Franklin County Sheriff’s Office report.
Both men were transported to Overland Park Regional — Russell by ambulance and Sloop by air ambulance.
Their conditions were unknown Friday morning.
Both vehicles were a total loss, according to the sheriff’s report.
