Leo Wiederholt has been building terraces since the 1950s. He said the terraces have helped prevent erosion in his fields, which has helped preserve the soil. Wiederholt is one of the Franklin County Conservation District’s 2009 Bankers Award winners. The soil conservation awards will be presented Thursday at the 69th annual Franklin County Conservation District meeting at Celebration Hall at the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Reservations were required for the event.
