Ottawa’s flash mob

I read about the “flash mob” in The Herald’s Jan. 23-24 Weekender and didn’t give it much thought at first. Just punks doing what punks do. But my mind wouldn’t let it go. I started thinking of things that could have resulted from this foolish stunt.

Matthew Pritchett and his merry band chose a crowded site to show their ignorance. The place happened to be a drug store. A person with serious heart problems could have been picking up a prescription. Maybe a preschooler with a parent was traumatized. Heck, there could have even been a person who is extra sensitive about national security. This individual might have had a concealed carry permit. In fact, there might simply have been an outraged citizen who was motivated enough to punch a couple of these idiots’ lights out.
