IOLA — An almost electric atmosphere helped lead the Central Heights High School boys basketball team to a 53-45 road win Friday in Iola.
“It was very competitive and a great atmosphere,” Central Heights coach Rusty Cannady said. “It was a lot of fun.

“During the game, I thought our kids played extremely well as a team. This is our 17th game and it was kind of the first time really where it just felt like everything started to come together.”
Drew Beckwith and Zach McAfee led a balanced Viking attack with 12 points each.
Jordan Horstick had 11 and Tanner Erhart, 10.
The Vikings 9-8) play tonight at home against Anderson County.

WELLSVILLE — Carter Mann and Cole Silsby scored in double figures to lead The Wellsville High School boys basketball team to a 52-48 win over Prairie View Friday in Wellsville.
Mann paced the Eagles with 21 points, while Silsby had 14.
The game was close from start to finish.
Prairie View led 24-23 at halftime. Wellsville outscored Prairie View 14-9 in the third quarter.
Prairie View (48) — Barthol 6, Phelps 12, Craig 6, Spears 4, Lee 6, Miller 12, Ross 2.
