Clowning around

A clown rides a bull from the Dailey Brothers Circus when it came to Ottawa in the late 1940s, as seen in a historic photo from the J.B. Muecke Collection at the Franklin County Records and Research Center, 1124 W. Seventh St. Terrace, Ottawa. Deborah Barker, Franklin County Historical Society director, said the circus, which traveled by train and by truck, came to Ottawa on a couple of occasions. The small circus also included a Wild West show and featured Gene Autry’s far-from-famous brother, who used the Autry name to attract patrons, Barker said.
