Five-year-old injured in accident

Franklin County EMS, sheriff's department and the Pomona Fire Department responded to an accident in the 3300 block of Georgia Road Friday afternoon. A 5-year-old boy was taken by air ambulance to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., after a farm implement collided with the motorcycle he was driving, sheriff's deputy Carl Bentley said. The boy was in serious but stable condition at the time he was taken to Children's Mercy, Bentley said.
