Dinner theater performance coming to Garnett

By BRIAN WILLIAMS, Herald Staff Writer

Food and entertainment are a package deal in Garnett for the next two weekends.

The Chamber Players Community Theatre will present the Neil Simon autobiographical classic, “Chapter Two,” Thursday through Saturday and Feb. 26-28 at the Thelma Moore Community Playhouse, 140 W. Fifth Ave., Garnett.

Through the character George Schneider, Simon tells the story of how he met actress Marsha Mason with a little help from his brother and her best friend, the director, Tom Emerson Jr., said in an e-mail.

The cast includes Gary Stapp as George, Charlotte Lutz as Jennie Malone, Ken Amaya as Leo Schneider and Jackie Fursman as Faye Medwick.

The play contains adult language and some situations are not suitable for children, Emerson said.

The dinner theater will begin serving the meal at 6 p.m. each night with the play to follow. Dinner is provided by the St. Rose School Support Group and the Holy Angels Altar Society.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the theater or by calling the Chamber Players at (785) 304-1683.

Seating is limited and advance tickets are required because of catering deadlines.
