JOYCE C. GADE

Joyce C. Gade, 78, Gardner, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Medicalodge of Gardner. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.

She was born Dec. 11, 1929, at New Rockford, N.D., to Henry and Alma (Ugelstad) Spindler.

She grew up in North Dakota and moved to Omaha, Neb. She moved to Ottawa in 1981.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Ottawa, and then First Baptist Church, Ottawa. She volunteered for the cancer society for seven years and canvassed her neighborhood for its annual fundraiser.

She was a homemaker.

She married Herbert V. Gade Jan. 31, 1964, at Fremont, Neb. He survives.

Survivors also include daughters, Jill Logan, and her husband, Lanny, Paola, Vicki Villone-Lange, Denver, Colo., Susan Anderson, Houston, Texas, and Connie Jessen, and her husband, David, Ottawa; a son, Ronald Villone, and his wife, Jeanette, Omaha, Neb.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Gene Spindler and Dale Spindler; and a sister, Eunice Bedford.

Cremation is planned.
