Shirk breaks record

PAOLA — Wellsville High School’s Carrie Shirk set a school record Friday in the triple jump at the Paola Invitational.

Shirk finished second with a leap of 34 feet, 4.25 inches to leap into the record book.

Sara Calvert won the discus.

The boys were led by Austen Moore, who placed in three events. He won the 100-meter race and was sixth in the 400 and triple jump.

Here are the Wellsville results from Paola:

Girls

Discus — 1, Sara Calvert, 108-3; 7, Caty Canterbury, 94-9.

Triple Jump — 2, Carrie Shirk, 34-4.25 (school record).

300 hurdles — 5, Reva Waters, 53.4.

Boys

300 hurdles — 6, Cody Gray, 46.2.

3,200 — 7, Derek Palmer, 11:04.

Shot put —  5, Kale Neis, 43-11

Pole Vault — 7, Aaron Patton, 10-0.

100 — 1, Austen Moore, 11.1.

400 — 6, Moore, 54.7.

Triple Jump — 6, Moore, 41-1.
