Wellsville boys place in 12 events

PERRY — The Wellsville High School boys track teams fought through the elements to place in 12 events Wednesday in the Perry-Lecompton Invitational.

Wellsville won event and placed second in five others.

“Our team went and competed extremely well in some rainy, cool conditions. I thought they handled the competition against 4A and 5A school pretty good, and got better as a team overall. Several of our athletes set personal bests last night in the rain,” Wellsville coach Eric Evans said.

Aaron Patton won the pole vault event.

Javelin — 5, Josh Davey, 129-5

High jump — 2, Clint Newton, 5-6

Long jump — 6, Noah Buckley, 17-3

400 relay — 3, Wellsville (Gray, Davey, Jones, Patton), 46.9
