Lydia Roberts, Manhattan, and Patrick Barrigan, Manhattan, were married Dec. 29, 2007, at First United Methodist Church, Ottawa, in a double-ring ceremony with Terry Bullock of the Richter United Methodist Church officiating.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Bill and Natalie Roberts, Pomona. She was escorted by her father.
He is the son of Tom Barrigan, Pomona, and Virginia Whitt, Denton, Texas.
Maid of honor was Brianne Roberts, Pomona, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Wigger, Wichita, friend of the bride, and Jamie Brown, Olathe, friend of the bride.
Best man was Tom Anderson, Las Vegas, Nev., friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Jon Wilson, Ames, Iowa, friend of the groom, and Josh Smith, Ames, Iowa, friend of the groom.
Candlelighters were Amanda Doughty, Manhattan, cousin of the bride; Laura Platt, Junction City, friend of the bride.
Ushers were Matt Roberts, Manhattan, brother of the bride; Ryan Roberts, Manhattan, brother of the bride; Mike Morse, Denton, Texas, brother of the groom; and Paul Schaller, Ames, Iowa, friend of the groom.
Flowergirl was Madison Hart, Eudora, cousin of the bride.
Ringbearer was Mason Hart, Eudora, cousin of the bride.
Music was provided by soloist Lauren Doughty, Manhattan, cousin of the bride; pianist, Don Carr, Ottawa; and string quartet by the Ottawa Suzuki Strings, Ottawa.
A reception was at Celebration Hall.
The couple took a wedding trip to the Bahamas.
The bride graduated from Pomona High School in 2003 and Kansas State University in 2008 with dual bachelor degrees in chemistry and biochemistry and a minor in biology.
The groom graduated from Pomona High School in 2003. He attended Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls, Iowa. He works at Briggs Auto Lane, Manhattan.
The couple plan to move to Chapel Hill, N.C. She will begin work on her Ph.d. in pharmacology at the University of North Carolina this fall. He will work at Michael Jordan Nissan, Durham, N.C.
