Who’s to blame?

America is being lied to by Congress. I’ve never heard so many excuses about why the price of oil is so high. On the other hand, OPEC countries are flourishing on our money. Who cares if other countries have to pay high prices for gas? Does that mean we have to suffer just to make it fair?
It seems Congress is hung up on a bunch of worthless EPA regulations that have put a virtual stop to drilling and pumping our own natural resources. Take the coal-fired power plants. The environmentalists have a bunch of liberals believing it would be catastrophic to our state if coal-burners were allowed. That’s nonsense and I know it. There are coal-powered plants in America that are just as clean as any of them — it’s just a matter of putting cleaners in the smoke stack, then the smoke issued is only steam vapor.
Another excuse is that India and China are using more. Well then why not open up some wells here and sell ours? With the resources we have in Alaska and off the continental shelf, we too could get in on this prosperity. It’s not big oil or President Bush’s fault we have this problem. The culprit is big environmental regulations and a liberal Congress.
