Agenda set for Thursday Ottawa Board of Zoning Appeals meeting

An Ottawa Board of Zoning Appeals meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 101 S. Hickory St.

  • Call to Order.
  • Roll Call:
  • Consent Agenda:
    • Meeting Minutes: October 30, 2008, meeting minutes.
    • Approve or deny the October 30, 2008 meeting minutes as typed by acclamation.
  • Public Hearing Procedures:
    • Chair announces application and opens public hearing.
    • Staff gives a summary presentation and recommendation.
    • Applicant makes presentation. (in 15 minutes or less).
    • Chair will ask for members of the audience who wish to speak.  Comments will be limited to a total time of 15 minutes.
    • Board of Zoning Appeals asks the applicant or staff questions.
    • Chair directs any questions to the appropriate individuals.
    • The public hearing is closed.
    • Board of Zoning Appeals discussion.
    • Board of Zoning Appeals votes.
  • Public Hearing Item:
    • Hold a pubic hearing to consider a variance to allow the reduction of the established front yard setback to allow an addition to be built 10 feet into the established front yard setback in an R-1 Low Density Residential Zoning District located at 707 E. 3rd Street.
  • Findings:
    • Board of Zoning Appeals creates findings.
  • Motion: Approve or deny the Board of Zoning Appeal findings.
  • Motion: Approve or deny the variance to allow the reduction of the established front yard setback to allow an addition to be built 10 feet into the established front yard setback in and R-1 Low Density Residential Zoning District located at 707 E. 3rd Street.
