Jenkins internship positions open

By The Herald Staff

WASHINGTON — Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins is accepting applications for congressional internships in her Washington, D.C., and Topeka offices for the fall 2009 term.

Applications for the fall are due by July 1, 2009. Jenkins is a Republican representing Kansas’ 2nd Congressional District.

“I think it is very important for our young folks to get involved and learn firsthand about their federal government,” Jenkins said.

“Congressional internships give students a valuable opportunity to work with my staff and me on important issues facing Kansans, and I encourage college students to consider applying.”

To apply for an internship, students should submit a completed application form, personal statement, resume and two letters of recommendation. The personal statement should outline internship goals. Both full- and part-time internships are available.

Students may call (202) 225-6601 with questions or visit Congresswoman Jenkins’ Web site at www.lynnjenkins.house.gov
