ACT Ottawa will close out its season with a classic.

The Pulitizer Prize-winning play “The Skin of Our Teeth,” by Thorton Wilder, will be presented 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Ottawa Municipal Auditorium, 301 S. Hickory St.

“The play is a fun play that will keep people on their toes keeping up, and will tell the story of ‘mankind’ and the difficulties ‘humankind’ has experienced throughout our existence,” John White, director, said.

The satire tells the story of the Antrobus family from the ice age to modern times.

“The casting requirement for this show makes it a great show to involve a lot of individuals in a production,” White said.

The large cast of 21, who portray 36 roles, provided a mixed blessing.

“Just the sheer numbers in the cast make for a scheduling/rehearsal difficulty trying to get everyone able to attend rehearsals and commit to the production/rehearsal schedule,” he said, and pointed out that it also added to the fun.
