• Interstate Highway 35 is expected to be open to traffic from Ottawa to the Kansas City area in the late summer or early fall, it was announced today by Walter Johnson, Topeka, chief engineer of the Kansas State Highway Department.

The highway has been in use between Ottawa and Wellsville for some time, and work is now in progress between Wellsville and the Olathe area.

• City officials will go to Kansas City tomorrow to confer with Army Engineers regarding certain details of the flood control project in Ottawa.

Subjects to be discussed include right-of-way matters on Missouri Pacific crossings.
