Red Sox pitchers stop Cubs

By The Herald Staff

Pitchers Trenton Ferguson, Kaleb Shaffer and Conner Linberg combined to lead the Red Sox to a 4-0 win over the Cubs Thursday in Ottawa Cal Ripken Minor League game.

Grant Maxwell, Shaffer, Ferguson and Linberg and Seth Bond led the Red Sox offense. Linberg had two RBIs and Bond, one.

The Cubs pitchers were Keegan Finch and Jackson McCally. Anthony Geist had a hit.

Red Sox catcher Maxwell threw out a base stealer.
