Agenda set for today's city commission meeting

An Ottawa City Commission meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at City Hall, 101 S. Hickory St., Ottawa.

Please notify the City Clerk before the meeting if you wish to address the City Commission.

    • Public Comments. Persons who wish to address the City Commission regarding items on the agenda may do so as that agenda item is called. Persons who wish to address the City Commission regarding items not on the agenda and that are under the jurisdiction of the City Commission may do so at this time when called upon by the Mayor. Comments on personnel matters and matters pending in court or with other outside tribunals are not permitted. Speakers are limited to three minutes.  Any presentation is for information purposes only.  No action will be taken.
    • Declaration.  At this time I'd like to give Commissioners a chance to declare any conflict or communication they've had that might influence their ability to consider today's issues impartially.

      • An Ordinance Rezoning an Area Within the Urban Growth Area, Franklin County, Kansas, and Updating the Section of the Zoning Map Which is Part of Ordinance No. 3501-05 of the City of Ottawa, Kansas.
        • Comments:  Addresses included in this rezone include:  630 Cleveland, 700 Cleveland, 704 Cleveland, 2550 Osborne Terrace, 2580 Osborne Terrace and 2502 Osborne Lane.
      • Appointments to City Boards
        • Comments:  Staff recommendations have been made in support of the following City board appointments:  Sean Powell, reappointment to the Tree Board; Almeda Edwards, reappointment to the Board of Zoning Appeals; Bill Crowley, appointment to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
      • A Resolution Authorizing the CDBG Procurement Plan for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
        • Comments:  This document supports the Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant. The City is partnering with ECKAN to request a grant to support low to moderate income housing.
      • A Resolution Authorizing the Code of Ethics for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
        • Comments:  This document supports the Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant. The City is partnering with ECKAN to request a grant to support low to moderate income housing.
