KCBT June volume tops May volume by 83.4 percent

From the Kansas City Board of Trade

Kansas City -- July 1, 2009 -- Kansas City Board of Trade trading volume for the month of June tallied 444,503 contracts, an increase of 83.4 percent from May 2009 volume of 242,335 contracts.

Leading the way for the gains was the wheat futures contract, which climbed 88.1 percent at 431,719 contracts compared to May 2009 volume of 229,496 contracts.
