Bridging the gap

Tony Gonzalez, worker with Ames Construction Inc., makes his way Monday across the steel beams of a new bridge as he and other construction workers prepare the bridge for a layer of concrete at the new U.S. 59 construction site. The bridge, which is near the Franklin/Douglas county line, is one of several that will connect Ottawa to Lawrence along the new highway.
