Auditions set for one-act plays

Auditions for three locally-produced one-act plays are coming this weekend.

Casting for Red Hot August Nights: A Night of One Acts by ACT! Ottawa will start, with auditions scheduled for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Carnegie Cultural Center, 515 S. Main St. , Ottawa.

The show will consist of three one acts, including “But Whose Counting,” by Larry Loebell, “Murmuring in a Dead Tongue,” by J.T. Rogers, and “I Dream before I Take the Stand,” by Arlene Hutton.

The cast, which will consist of eight people, will take the stage at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 22 and Aug. 23 at the Crystal Plaza theater, 209 S. Main St., Ottawa.
