Be a smart voter: Check out Election 2008 online here

Looking for help checking out primary election candidates?

Election 2008 — a special project of The Ottawa Herald, at www.ottawaherald.com — is your answer.

There, online, you'll find the stances of, and backgrounds on, all the candidates for key, contested positions in Franklin and Anderson counties.

Just look for the "Election 2008" link near the top of the page on the Home Page and most online news pages.

You can start with a list of months' worth of election-related stories published in The Ottawa Herald, the area's election central.

From there you can explore each of the key races or check out a list of all candidates for all positions in Franklin County.

You'll also find information on how to register to vote, an interactive map of polling places in Franklin County or a text list of polling places if you prefer.

Information changes daily between now and the Aug. 5 primary.
