Foursome claims senior scramble win
The foursome of John Lovgren, Karon Crosby, C.W. Brazeal and Jim Clark won Monday’s senior scramble at Hickory Hollow with a minus-3. Gary Griffen (No. 3) and Tim Jones (No. 7) were closest to the pin winners.
OU signee plays in Oil Bowl
WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Ottawa University 2008 football signee, offensive tackle Josh Jagielo of Rockwall, Texas, played June 20 in the 71st Annual Oil Bowl in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Oklahoma took the victory in the 71st running of the game, 17-16 over the Texas All-Stars. Jagielo started the second quarter of the contest and appeared on special teams for the Texas team.
The Oil Bowl, which began in 1938, pitted only Texas players against each other for the first seven years of existence. It wasn’t until 1945 when players from Oklahoma and Texas played against each other. Texas won the first meeting 13-0 with Oklahoma only passing midfield one time during the contest.
