Enrollment nears for area schools

It’s nearly time to break out the freshly sharpened pencils and shiny new lunch boxes for the first day of school.
But first, enrollment.
Area school districts’ enrollments begin as early as this week and continue through August.
Central HeightsStudents at Central Heights can register 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday in the gym at Central Heights High School, 3521 Ellis Road, rural Richmond.
OttawaRegistration will be noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 4 for Lincoln and Eugene Field elementary schools at Lincoln school, 1102 Milner St. Enrollment for Garfield and Eisenhower elementary schools will be noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 5 at Garfield, 1213 College St.
Enrollment for Ottawa Middle School will be 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5 for eighth grade, Aug. 6 for seventh grade and Aug. 7 for sixth grade at the school, 1230 S. Ash St. A pool party for each grade will begin at 6:30 p.m. each day.
Yearbook photos will be taken during enrollment.
For Ottawa High School, registration will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 6 for seniors, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 6 for juniors, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 7 for sophomores and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 7 for freshmen at the school, 1120 S. Ash St.
Photos of all OHS students will be taken at enrollment.
Ottawa parents can apply for free and reduced school lunches for their children from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ottawa Board of Education office, 416 S. Main St., or during extended hours.
Extended hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through July 31 and Aug. 11-13. The office also will be open 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 14 and 15.
Parents will need last month’s income for all household members or a letter from SRS stating eligibility for free meals.

WellsvilleRegistration for Wellsville elementary students will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the elementary school, 218 Ash St., Wellsville.
Middle and high schoolers can enroll 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the high school, 602 Walnut St., Wellsville.
West FranklinEnrollment for all students will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at West Franklin High School, 511 E. Franklin St., Pomona.
