Ottawa parents can apply for free and reduced price school lunches for their children during enrollment, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the Ottawa Board of Education office, 416 S. Main St., or during extended hours.

Extended hours are 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today and Thursday; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday; and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 10-12.

Parents will need last month’s income for all household members or a letter from SRS stating eligibility for free meals.

For more information or to set up an appointment, call Teresa Powers at the district office at (785) 229-8010.

“I encourage parents to come to the district office before enrollment,” Powers said. “It is a lot faster than enrollment day. If parents qualify for free meals, they can sign up to have the enrollment fee waived.”
