New faces among university administration

By JENALEA MYERS, Herald Staff Writer

Faculty members and students aren’t the only new faces at Ottawa University.

The campus also welcomed a new president, academic dean and vice president of university enrollment this year.

Kevin Eichner

Eichner joins the university as the 21st president, succeeding Fred B. Zook, who had been serving as interim president since August 2007.

Eichner served as president, chief executive officer and vice chairman of Enterprise Financial Services Corporation, the parent company of Enterprise Bank and Trust, a $2 billion banking and $1.7 billion trust company headquartered in St. Louis.

A co-founder of Enterprise, Eichner served as its CEO for six years. He stepped down as CEO May 1, but remains active as the company’s vice chairman and chairman of its subsidiary trust board.

Eichner graduated from OU in 1973 with a bachelor of arts degree in social change. He went on to earn a master of business administration degree from Harvard Business School in 1977.

Steven Foulke

A recent Fulbright Scholar and associate history professor, Foulke is the new academic dean at OU.

Foulke, who’s originally from McPherson, has been an associate history professor at OU since 2004 and has more than 10 years of experience in higher education.

Foulke holds a doctorate in geography from the University of Kansas, a master’s degree in American studies from the University of Wyoming, and a bachelor’s degree in history and English from McPherson College.

Brian Sandusky

Sandusky was recently named as the vice president of university enrollment.

He comes to Ottawa from Bellevue University in Omaha, Neb., where he served as associate vice president of enrollment management and vice president of strategic initiatives.

Sandusky earned his doctorate from Northcentral University in 2005. He also holds a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree from Davenport University.
