‘The Star-Spangled Banner’

James “JD” Johnson, Richmond, sings “The Star-Spangled Banner” in June at the 72nd American Legion Boys’ State. During Boys’ State, students organized themselves into political parties, cities and counties and ran for office. Following elections, the students learned to solve government challenges at every level. Other local students included Russell Hampton, Skye Mills Ethan VanZant, of Central Heights High School; Mike Dunlap, Dylan Moore and Devin Turner, of Ottawa High School; and Dustin Bonzo, Carston Cooper, Adam Sobba, Taylor Stapp, and Tyler Tush, of Anderson County Jr.-Sr. High School. Ottawa High School graduates, Tyler Hazen, Tyler Sharp and Tyler Sheldon served as counselors.
