Historical society meeting Sunday

By The Herald Staff

The fall quarterly meeting of the Franklin County Historical Society is planned 2 p.m. Sunday at the Records and Research Center, 1124 W. Seventh St. Terrace. It will feature Richmond historian Todd Mildfelt, author of two books about regional history. He will talk about his most recent one, “Wagon Trail to Freedom,” which tells a local underground railroad story.

Todd also has written folk songs about local historical events and studied two Civil War-era personalities in detail — John E. Cook and James Montgomery.
