New trial date set in child sex case

A second jury trial for a 37-year-old Quenemo man accused of six charges involving indecent liberties with a child is set for Oct. 24 through Oct. 27.

The first trial of David Louis Wadkins Jr. was June 7 through June 9. A 12-member jury couldn’t come to a unanimous decision after three days of evidence and four hours of deliberation, resulting in a hung jury.
