Lady Braves volleyball remains perfect in KCAC

McPHERSON — The Ottawa University volleyball team maintained a one-match lead over Kansas Wesleyan and Friends Saturday with a straight sets win over McPherson in McPherson.

Ottawa won 25-9, 25-12, 25-21. Ottawa moved to 7-0 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference and sets up a big match Thursday at home against Kansas Wesleyan.

Ottawa rolled to a 3-1 victory over Southwestern Christian University (25-17, 25-11, 21-25, 26-24)

The Lady Brave defenese held the McPherson Bulldogs to a .011 hitting percentage with 21 kills in 93 attempts. The Ottawa offense hit .337.

Senior Kristen Hendrickson led Ottawa with 11 kills. Taylor Bridge had eight and Allie Arnold tallied seven.

Chrissie Jeannin led Ottawa with 33 assists. Katie Jensen had 11 digs.

Brea Frederick paced Ottawa with 15 kills against Southwestern Christian. Arnold compiled 11 kills. Haley Thomas finished with 10 kills.

Missy Sterling quarterbacked the offense and had 37 assists. Mohsani Hoveyda led Ottawa with 22 digs.

Ottawa (14-5, 7-0) plays tonight at Tabor.
