Displacing homes, businesses is hard but ultimately worth it

The 59 project

About 45 years ago, many property owners near Pomona were displaced to make way for progress with the construction of the Pomona Lake and dam.

Another kind of displacement-producing progress is occurring in Franklin County now. Property owners are being displaced to make way for a highly visible and needed U.S. 59 construction project.
