KCAC honors OU athletes

Ottawa University had two student athletes earn Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference player of the week honors.

Tara Wood was defensive player of the week for women’s soccer and Ross Diehl was recognized as defensive player of the week for football.

Wood helped OU earn its sixth shutout of the season Saturday in the Lady Braves’ 3-0 victory over McPherson. She also helped OU hold the 31st ranked goal scoring team in the NAIA (3 goals per game),  Southern Nazarene University, to one goal in OU’s 1-1 tie with the 14th ranked team in the NAIA. The women’s soccer team is now 7-2-1 overall and 1-0-0 in the KCAC.

Diehl, a junior linebacker, had 10 tackles with two being for loss and one sack in OU’s 23-3 victory Saturday over Southwestern Assemblies of God on Saturday. The OU football team is now 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the KCAC.
