Ottawa runners rev it up

By The Herald Staff

BALDWIN CITY — The calendar turned into October and it is time for cross country runners to make a move.

The Ottawa High School runners did Saturday in the Baldwin Invitational.

Nearly all of the runners ran a season-best time in a meet with top flight competition.

“It was really a good meet for us,” Ottawa coach Chris Kornhaus said. “I am proud of the way they competed. Nearly everbody ran their best time. This is the time all the prep work should be paying off.”

The field included Baldwin, Shawnee Mission Northwest, Shawnee Mission North and Shawnee Mission West.

Kornhaus said the level of competition jumped and he saw good things from the Ottawa runners.
